Maybe I am an idiot

But I am one of those who believe that " Wall Street" should reflect main street, not the other way around. The function of wall street, aka, the financial system, is to allocate capital into the economy for " real value" creation that will be reflected in an increase in standards of living.
Now, I am no CFA and I cannot get into the intricacy of the different financial structures that populate the financial system; however, I am " smart enough" to realize that there is a deep dichotomy between the needs of wall street today and the needs of the common people out there. Wall street as it is right now, is an addict that needs to be refueled with easy money to keep on going. Main street on the other hand has had enough! She got drunk, embarrassed itself to bankruptcy, and is now trying to " change" her way.
But, Wall Street is unwilling to deal with reality and is perpetually calling for more booze from the great distiller called the " FED".

The big houses are still living it large after being bailout 2 years ago. They are spurring the world, looking for new territories to invade with their armies of CDOs and CDSs.
Returning to a sounder financial system is " out of question." And Big Ben has promised to fly his helicopter to throw money from the skies if " necessary."

I look around and I see people without jobs, desperation can be observed on the faces of the common mom and pop. Some are quite a bit optimistic, hoping for change in the near future!
With the dow at 12000, wall street is celebrating, nominally! But real value adjusted prices are up and the dollar is losing its value against all major currencies and commodities.
Maybe people on wall street are aware of this; but 12000, that is quite a number hey!

I am no fool, I can observe real economic growth with people working well paying jobs and young men and women being optimistic about the prospects of their futures. In today's paradigm, I see nothing that can make me hopeful and optimistic... on the broader range!
12000 Dow ain't nothing but a number! But yet again, maybe I am just an idiot!
