But, isn't the same Quaddaffi who was allowed to build his tent in London and Paris a few years back? Isn't the same man who received huge amount of money from Italy for "colonial reparation" aka oil contract guarantees? The Quaddafi who was described as a relative mild leader in comparison to his peers in Africa or the middle East for his infrastructure development and his support for his people? Yes it is the same man! The sheer hypocrisy of people like Sarkozy, whose election campaign might have been financed by the Quaddafi family wealth is shocking! In fact it shouldn't if you know the characters that are involved in this Game!
But war is an expensive " Game" and the West, structurally bankrupt as it is, is playing with the devil by engaging in colonial economics. The Chinese have been able to out-pace most western Nations in the last 20 years exactly because they have always stood out of others Nations internal issues and have rather focused on doing business, first and foremost.
It is rather a difficult task to finance wars of " peace" while also trying to maintain a growing economy! Something ought to give here! Japan and Germany, two of the most dynamic economies of the last half-century had virtually no military whatsoever despite living in a world of torment, terrorist attacks, piracies, spies...etc France and England on the other hand, maybe still haunted by the lost of their " grandeur" have continued their schemings and military financings of dictators and kleptocrats despite their ever languishing internal balance sheet! This is due to the fact that militarism is a very expensive undertaking that shift resources away from the market into making tools of death. To grow an economy, you have to cut the waste and marginal expense and there is nothing more marginal than the military!
Now, every Nation " must" find a way to protect itself from outside invasions and attacks by alien organizations; but to grow an entire " monster" out of the defense system can have negative impact on the economy, especially at time when millions of struggling to find jobs or afford food and clothing because of higher price inflation.
China, the scary communist Nation, is involved in another form of " colonialism"! It is expanding its economic influence across the planet by buying resources from third world countries and, thus providing ready cash for these poor Nations that have long been under the tutelage of the World Bank. No bombing, no militarism, just doing business! Whether you understand it or not, people would rather be paid than be bombed!
The prescient Chinese leadership understand that war is bad for business and that's why they are standing for peace at a time when the West is fighting for it!
" China supports a full role played by the Peacebuilding Commission in peacebuilding, financing and coordinating international assistance in the post-conflict countries," Li said.
He noted that peacekeeping and peacebuilding need to have an exit strategy in order to encourage post-conflict countries to stand on their own at an earlier date.
Li said that the Peacebuilding Commission should respect the sovereignty, independence and priorities set up by the country concerned when drawing peacebuilding strategy.
"China believes that the international community's assistance to the post-conflict countries should give priority to national capacity building, youth employment, economic and social development,"
The Chinese understand their need for resources and they know that they cannot grow their command economy by invading country left and right in order to promote their own branch of socialism. Quite contrary, they would like to emphasize " peace" in order to be able to invest in resources and partner with the local economies that might help their increasing demand at home. It is a very simple business plan that is enhancing China's reputation across the world while the West is largely perceived, and rightfully so, as brutish and aggressive!
